Meet Dr. Kang
Dr. Tony Kang was born in Seoul, the capital city of South Korea. He moved to Alabama at a young age with his mother and younger sister to begin a new life in America. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biomedical Engineering and graduate studies in Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During his time at the university, he fell in love with his wife, Down, who is a nurse and shares his passion for helping those in need.
Dr. Kang pursued his dream of becoming an oral/maxillofacial surgeon at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center by completing a four-year training program in oral/maxillofacial surgery, medicine, and anesthesia, including a pediatric anesthesia rotation at the distinguished Cincinnati Children's Hospital. While training, he had the opportunity to travel to Bangalore, India, to assist the senior surgeons of Smile Train unit in providing surgical care for children born with cleft lip and cleft palate.
Dr. Kang enjoys practicing the contemporary scope of oral/maxillofacial surgery with a special interest in outpatient anesthesia. Dr. Kang is a diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a member of American Dental Association.
Outside of work, Dr. Kang enjoys spending time with his wife and his daughter, Olivia and his son, Theodore. Dr. Kang is excited to practice in Maine and enjoy the beauty that nature has to offer.
